Recorded on the 8th of May 2003 in Tomsk area, near Krivosheino village at sunset (floodplain grassland; at 5721N, 8408E). Background species: Corvus cornix.

Arrives at the beginning of the period of snow melting. Appears around Tomsk and farmyards at the end of March, in other habitats a bit later.

Familiar breeder in farmland, suburban and urban areas (gardens, city parks), and in floodplains of large rivers. Avoids denser older forests. Common species, often abundant. Widely distributed in the region.

Short song season, from April until mid-May or the end of May.
