Recorded on the 9th of June 2002 in the southern edge of Tomsk (upland meadow; at 5624N, 8457E). Background species: Carpodacus erythrinus, Cuculus canorus.

Usually arrives in a period when the birch leaves appear. Summer visitor, appears in Tomsk area at about mid-May.

Prefers deciduous scrub and bushy areas along watercourses, soggy overgrown lake and river shores, bushy clearings in deciduous woods, parks and smaller copses on the urban territory. Also inhabits cut or burnt forests. Common and region-wide.

Sings from mid-May until mid- or end of July.
