Recorded on the 28th of June 2000 in the floodplain of Tom’ river (30 km to the south of Tomsk) (willow bushes; at 56°15N, 84°53E). Background species: Sylvia communis.

Arrives when the leaves have appeared and the perennial grasses in the grasslands are fully grown. In Tomsk and its outskirts appears at the end of May - early June.

Breeds in willows beside watercourses and other shrubbery on taiga bogs or on wet meadows. Common in optimal habitats in the south, rarer in the north and west of the region.

Sings from the end of May until the end of July.
