Recorded on the 30th of June 2002 near the railway station of Mezjeninovka (to the east of Tomsk) (deciduous woodland; at 5621N, 8525E). Background species: Emberiza citrinella, Sylvia borin, Chloris chloris, Cuculus canorus, Loxia curvirostra.

Arrives after the full foliage expansion. In Tomsk and its outskirts appears in the first ten days of June. 

Breeds in open woodland areas, requires glades with rank undergrowth, bushy zones, overgrown clearings and burnt forests. Common and region-wide. Especially common along the right bank territory of Tom river and in the area at the middle part of Chulym river (right tributary of Ob river).

Sings from June until approximately mid-July.
