Recorded on the 29th of May 2005 at the southern edge of Tomsk (upland meadow; at 56°24N, 84°57E).

Arrives at the thaw period. Can be seen near Tomsk from about mid-April.

Prefers open woodland glades, and at the edges of pastures and cultivated terrains. Found also in overgrown peat bogs, burnt forests and forest clearings. Common species, locally abundant. Distributed over the whole region.

Sings from mid- or end of April until approximately mid-July.
