Recorded on the 5th of April 2004 in the east of Tomsk (deciduous forest; at 56°31N, 85°00E). Call recorded on the 28th of March 2005 in the north of Tomsk (pine forest; 56°34N, 84°55E). Background species: Parus major, Pyrrhula pyrrhula, Pica pica, Turdus pilaris, Dendrocopos major; Sitta europaea.

Common in our latitudes all the year round. May be seen at bird tables in parks in winter, together with Blue Tit.

Inhabits all types of forests. Common and region-wide.

Sings from January-February until the end of June.
